I want to make my ARDR account more secure by sending 2 ARDR to my own ARDR address (so my public key will be known on the blockchain) , but this doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?
- Downloaded latest version of ARDR client 2.0.10 and installed it (left the 2 checkboxes open, so not on testnet and not as light client, although the dashboard says I am running as a light client)
- logged in using my passphrase
- If I click on more info on the dashboard I do see the public key
- Now I send 2 ARDR to myself by using the ARDO-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx address, 2 ARDR, fee: 1 ARDR and the passphrase
- After sending a green pop-up appears telling me that NXT (not ARDR!) has been send
- My recent transactions showing me nothing and the total amount of ARDR remains the same. As is the message telling me I should send some NXT (in my ARDR client?) or send a message to be more secure....
Anyone knows what could be wrong?
J12 helped me out: Steps I took:
1 I closed the Ardor client from the Ardor client itself
2 I closed ARDOR by right clicking the Ardor icon in notification area (was still running)
3 I Uninstalled the current ARDOR version (using the uninstaller in ARDOR directory)
4 I reinstalled ardor client version 2.0.10 leaving both checkboxes unmarked (so not on testnet and not as light client)
5 after installation, I started the ARDR client and logged on using the passphrase (before I logged on it showed me the blockchain was updated with a green pop-up)
6 Dashboard showing me the warning that my public key is not published on the blockchain
7 After doing the same actions as before, this time the tx did went through and warning has dissapeared!
So I think it was because of running the light client and my first attempt installing the full client failed because of Ardor still running at the background
If you've installed the latest version (v2.0.13) of the wallet, I guess it's because you choose the "light client" option during installation. The light client doesn't download the blockchain to your device, and it connects to random nodes in the network to perform the operations. If, by any chance, your wallet connects to a remote node that's using v2.0.12, you can still receive the "outdated" message in your dashboard. Just try restating your wallet and it will connect to another node.

Hi all, I just thought I'd post a quick screenshot of the GPS Token purchase page and dashboard for the upcoming Triffic ICO using the Ignis childchain. As well as allowing people to buy tokens using Ardor, Ignis, Nxt, Ethereum and Bitcoin, it also has a built-in affiliate system and KYC from Identitymind.

As @ACCully said, as soon as your account is announced to the network that message will dissappear from the top of your dashboard and your account will gain additional protection https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCO5mrwCqF8 To announce your account, you can attach the public key to the transaction (the wallet will show you a specific field for that when trying to send funds to a brand new account) when funding your account, or you can make any kind of outgoing transaction from your account
Open the wallet and log in to your account. Then you need to switch to a child chain (such as IGNIS) to be able to use the Messaging function. Once there, press on the "Send Message" button at the top of the dashboard to start sending your message to another account.
